It was truly an awesome sight. An adorable 9-year-old girl in a red dress, singing at the opening ceremony in Beijing.

Her crystal-clear rendition of "Ode to the Motherland" was rivaled only by the brilliant fireworks display behind her. But the performance was bogus.

Little Lin Miaoke lip-synched, ala Milli Vanilli. Yang Peiyi, the girl who really sang it, got none of the glory ... until today.
